25-29 Barkly Street, BALLARAT EAST VIC 3350 - Property No B1059 |
An imposing but unusual design using coloured brick-work to define separate highly individual elements of the facade. The building is the only known work of the architect C Ohlfsen Bagge, and dates from 1867. At that date it represents an early use of coloured brick-work in Victoria. The foundation stone was laid by Sir Redmond Barry in February, 1867. Classified State 3/08/1998 |
